Role Overview
Celcom Africa Ltd is seeking a talented and passionate Support Engineer to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for building scalable, high-performance applications and contributing to the development of innovative digital solutions that drive business growth.
You will work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, partnering with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy modern software systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following industry best practices.
- Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and code reviews.
- Integrate and manage APIs and third-party services.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing software systems.
- Collaborate with product, operations, and engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
- Support system deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong experience in software development and modern programming languages (such as Java, Go, or PHP).
- Experience working with APIs, databases, and web technologies.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- Understanding of Agile development practices and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in English; based in Nairobi, Kenya - full-time, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Added Advantage
- Experience with cloud platforms, DevOps tools, or container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of microservices architecture or modern web frameworks.
