Background
We are seeking a Swimming Academy Lead Coach to oversee U9–U17 swimmers. The coach will develop a performance-driven programme that integrates technical skill development, strength & conditioning, endurance training, and competition preparation with academic flexibility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a structured swimming curriculum with age-appropriate benchmarks.
- Lead weekly sessions, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, across term and holiday periods.
- Track swimmer progress with metrics, timed trials, video analysis, and termly performance reports.
- Prepare swimmers for regional, national, and international competitions.
- Promote a professional academy culture emphasising discipline, resilience, and teamwork.
- Coordinate with academic tutors to ensure student-athletes meet academic expectations.
- Collaborate with physiotherapists, nutritionists, psychologists, and sports scientists for holistic athlete support.
- Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety standards are fully implemented.
SUCCESS INDICATORS (KPI’S)
- Measurable improvement in technical skill, endurance, and starts per term.
- Participation in ≥3 regional or national swimming competitions annually.
- High retention rates with target enrolment of 50 swimmers in Year 1.
- ≥90% of swimmers meet academic targets.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Recognised swimming coaching qualification (Kenya Swimming Federation / World Aquatics / ASA).
- Lifesaving and first aid certification.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience coaching in a structured swimming academy.
- Proven experience coaching school-age athletes for competitive pathways.
- Flexible to conduct early morning, evening, and weekend sessions.
