Role Context
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Art to join our vibrant academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspiring students and fostering their creativity and artistic development across different age groups and curriculum stages.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging art lessons according to the school’s curriculum and pedagogical approaches.
- Develop and implement creative and innovative teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning needs.
- Assess student progress through various methods, including coursework, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
- Create a positive, stimulating, and safe learning environment that encourages exploration and experimentation in art.
- Manage classroom resources, including art materials and equipment, ensuring their proper use and maintenance.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student learning and well-being.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and school events.
- Promote an appreciation for art and culture within the school.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field. A Postgraduate qualification in Education is an added advantage.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
- Proven experience in teaching Art at the secondary level, preferably within the British Curriculum (IGCSE, A-Levels).
- Strong knowledge of various art forms, techniques, and art history.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students effectively.
- Proficiency in using art materials and technology relevant to art education.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a relevant educational setting.
