Job Description

Leadership:

  • Lead a team of sorting staff.
  • Motivate and support the team to achieve sorting goals and targets.

Safety Compliance:

  • Enforce and promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
  • Ensuring all staff are wearing their personal protective equipment.
  • Ensuring all the equipment in use are cleaned before and after shift: cleanliness of the conveyors and related parts, forklift and wheelloaders, sorting spaces and bale storage areas.
  • Investigate and report accidents or incidents promptly, implementing corrective actions.

Quality Control:

  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of waste sorting operations.

Sorting  Planning:

  • Ensuring proper housekeeping around the respective sorting area.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Keep accurate records of sorting numbers, quality and staff attendance.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Report and update production metrics, equipment status, and any issues to the relevant parties.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve overall plant efficiency and effectiveness

Relevant Experience

  • Proven experience in controlling, Team Leading or supervising a production team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/google sheets, computer knowledge and relevant software applications.

Knowledge and  skills

  • Problem - Solving Skills and Decision Making Skills.
  • Data entry and organization skill.
  • Knowledge of the material composition to be able to identify separate recyclable waste from non- recyclable.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
