Background
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to serving the poor and vulnerable in the United States and throughout the world. Founded in 1943 by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, CRS works with the Church and collaborates with other organizations to assist people on the basis of need, not creed, race or nationality.
CRS has been working in Malawi since 1999, implementing programs in health, agriculture, education, and emergency relief. The organization is committed to empowering local communities and building their capacity to address their own development challenges.
Responsibilities
The Technical Advisor 11 will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the design, implementation, and monitoring of CRS programs in Malawi. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical guidance and support to program staff and partners.
- Ensuring the quality and effectiveness of program interventions.
- Contributing to the development of new program proposals and strategies.
- Conducting research and analysis to inform program design and implementation.
- Representing CRS in relevant technical working groups and forums.
- Mentoring and capacity building of local staff and partners.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, international development, social sciences).
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in program design, implementation, and management in the non-profit sector.
- Proven expertise in [Specific technical area, e.g., health systems strengthening, agricultural development, education].
- Strong analytical, research, and report writing skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience working in sub-Saharan Africa, preferably in Malawi.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
Experience
A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience is required.
