Position Summary
The Technical Designer is responsible for converting creative concepts into production-ready technical outputs that can be costed, approved, fabricated, installed, quality checked, and closed without ambiguity.
Key responsibilities (summary):
- Technical Interpretation and Detailing
- Translate Concepts into Production-Ready Drawings
- Support Design Interpretation for Production
- Material & build up Specification
- Develop 2D and 3D Technical Visuals
- Support Quality Control
Education / Training
- Diploma or Degree in Technical Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Product Design, Mechanical Drafting, or related field.
- Training in CAD / technical drawing software
Experience
- 2-3years experience preparing production drawings, shop drawings, fabrication details, or installation detail packages.
- Experience working with fabrication, signage, fit-out, exhibition build, event branding, or related technical production environments (wood, metal build ups)
- Experience working with revisions, document control, and design-to-production coordination.
Software & Tools
- Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- 3D software (SketchUp, 3ds Max, Blender, or similar)
- CAD knowledge (AutoCAD or similar) is an added advantage
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 24
Level of Education: associate degree
