PlPl Planning and Coordination.
- Develop Quarterly and annual strategic workplans in collaboration with the line functional and operational supervisors; DVC-RCE and regional PEP project manager respectively
- Generate and share relevant project reports with the regional project manager through the research and community extension office at AMIU
- Participate in the development and implementation of project logical frameworks and M&E plans.
- Support project team in planning, implementation and evaluation of relevant project activities
- Work with relevant stakeholders including regulatory bodies to co-create and supervise the implementation of HPE related activities in the regional PEP project.
- Liaise with other project staff in implementation sites to ensure harmonious implementation and reporting on the planned activities
Technical Support
- Design and implement evidence based educational programs in selected partner institutions
- Design and implement relevant education research studies across various partner institutions
- Mentor and coach healthcare educators and clinical supervisors on Novel, innovative and active teaching methodologies.
- Foster the formation of productive linkages and networks with other entities and partners in the region to ensure there is successful implementation of PEP project activities
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks for educational programs
- Oversight establishing of Simulation Based Learning (SBL) centres of excellence in the region
- Carry out operational research to establish the effectiveness of PEP project interventions
- Participate in organizing project advocacy forums.
- Identify project risks and initiate appropriate interventions
- Monitor progress and document progress made in HPE components of the PEP project
- Work in Liaison with the Online and Blended Learning (OBL) teams at AMIU and the larger Amref Health Africa to integrate various innovative/novel digital learning and disruptive training solutions in partner institutions’ core-curriculum.
- Support AMIU faculty to develop and implement Competency Based Curricula
Community and Resource mobilisation and sensitization
- Engage various stakeholders to enhance the adoption of evidence-based PEP project models and concepts
- Drive targeted audience mobilization and Sensitization in the implementation of PEP activities across all implementation sites
- Assist in the identification of strategic resource persons to work with to enhance achieving of the PEP project goals
- Establish and sustain harmonious and gainful strategic relationships with various stakeholders to facilitate successful project activities and implementation
- Identify opportunities that can enhance the growth of the project and communicate them to the program lead including the AMIU DVC Research and Community Extension
- Contribute to the development of fundraising concept notes and proposals based on emerging opportunities
Financial Management
- Strategically manage financial resources allocated to HPE related activities and share associated reports with the regional project manager through AMIU’s DVC Research and Community Extension.
- Research and Innovations
- Development and implementation of research protocols; data collection, report writing and dissemination.
- Support the Research Directorate in grant writing and implementation of research activities.
- Support AMIU faculty and graduate school students to develop and implement various education research studies
- Support PEP partner institutions to develop and implement various education research studies
Reporting and Documentation
- Assist in data entry and analysis of project activities.
- Provide relevant reports as per project and donor requirements.
- Assist in the capitalisation of best practices and lessons learnt by developing success stories for publication.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Earned PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) in a health-related field, a Bachelor’s degree in a Health or education field and a Masters in HPE, education technology or related field from a recognized University
Required Experience
- Knowledgeable in project management, designing and deployment of Novel and innovative training interventions including Simulation Based Learning (SBL).
- Knowledgeable in conducting education research; with at least 3 publications in HPE related field
- At least five (5) years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in curriculum development and training of Human Resource for Health (HRH).
- Experience in evaluating Health Education Programs
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders in a health development project or program
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

- Project management skills
- Good knowledge of community dynamics, mobilization and participation
- Excellent reporting and computer skills and ICT competencies a must
