ESL is seeking to recruit a competent and results-driven Technical Officer to support its technical and operational activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for equipment maintenance, technical documentation, operational coordination, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring optimal performance of company assets. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge in heavy plant maintenance, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment. The position is based in Mombasa.
Responsibilities or duties
- Maintain maintenance records, job cards, and equipment documentation.
- Plan and coordinate preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance.
- Diagnose faults, support repairs, and ensure equipment readiness.
- Monitor equipment uses, operational performance, and safety compliance.
- Coordinate permits, approvals, and statutory inspection requirements.
- Prepare weekly reports on asset utilization and work progress.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (Plant Option) or related field.
- Government Trade Test in Engineering.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of machine diagnostic software.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to adapt to modern maintenance technologies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Leadership and team management skills.
Experience needed
5–6 years’ experience in heavy plant repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain maintenance records, job cards, and equipment documentation.
