Key Responsibilities
- Safe operation of hydrogen and Nitrogen gas plants
- Ensure steady supply of Nitrogen and Hydrogen gases to the MCL and annealing furnace
- Regular monitoring of equipment health and reporting malfunctions to the production supervisor as well as maintenance supervisors
- Recording of all process parameters in shift log sheets is provided.
- Troubleshooting in case of process abnormalities and initiating preventive/corrective actions.
- Report all cases of equipment malfunction to the metal coating line production engineer
- Carry out safe LPG offloading and ensure a steady supply to the Metal Coating Line, Colour Coating Line, and ARP.
- Working closely with the production team to ensure daily production and quality targets are met.
- Sending Flash Report on matters pertaining to Gas Plants operations.
- Preparation of daily LPG consumption reports.
- Implement 6S in gas plants
- Preparation and replenishing of potassium hydroxide solution for the hydrogen plant.
- Participation in shutdown activities as and when required
- Performing other duties as assigned by the management from time to time
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Instrumentation or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in a process industry environment such as oil & gas, petrochemical plants, refineries or industrial gas operations
- Ability to interpret P&IDs and Process Flow Diagrams.
- Knowledge of DCS/SCADA systems and process control operations.
- Good communication skills in English and Swahili.

- Air Separation Units (ASUs) and Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) systems
- LPG storage and handling facilities
- Process plants utilising DCS/SCADA control systems
- Safe operation of hydrogen and Nitrogen gas plants
