In this role, you will be responsible for generating qualified sales leads, converting prospects into customers and directly supporting revenue growth through outbound calls, follow-ups and client engagement. You will actively promote the company’s pharmaceutical and healthcare product portfolio to pharmacies, institutions and other trade clients, while building and managing customer relationships remotely. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to identify opportunities, close deals over the phone and consistently meet or exceed sales targets within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Generation and Sales Prospecting: Proactively source and engage potential customers through outbound calls, referrals and databases. Assess customer needs, purchasing potential and decision-making capacity to build a strong sales pipeline.
Sales Conversion: Promote pharmaceutical and healthcare products over the phone, clearly communicating value propositions and converting leads into confirmed orders, while consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Customer Engagement: Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing clients by understanding their needs, offering suitable solutions and ensuring seamless customer experience to drive retention and repeat business.
Pipeline and Follow-up Management: Track all customer interactions, quotations and follow-ups using sales trackers while providing timely updates, resolving concerns, and moving prospects through the sales funnel until closure.
Reporting and Performance Monitoring: Maintain accurate sales records and submit daily, weekly and monthly performance reports. Monitor personal sales progress against set KPIs, including call volume, lead conversion rate, and revenue contribution to the Commercial team.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or Certificate in Pharmaceutical Technology, Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Communication or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in telesales, inside sales or a customer service role, preferably within the pharmaceutical, healthcare or FMCG sectors.
- Proficient in telephone sales techniques, including lead generation, conversion strategies and objection handling.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a confident and persuasive phone presence.
- Comfortable using CRM systems, Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook), and other sales or customer tracking platforms.
- Target-oriented with strong time management, follow-up and organizational abilities.
- Fluent in both English and Kiswahili. Knowledge of additional regional languages will be an advantage.
