Background
Fontana Enterprises Limited (FEL) is a company incorporated in Kenya under the company’s act Cap 486 and started its operations in 1978 as a sole proprietorship business and later incorporated as a limited liability company in 1985. With its head office in Nairobi, FEL has grown tremendously to become a leader in both local and international procurement and commission agency business in the East African region. We represent a number of international firms in the East Africa region and also undertake joint ventures with other established firms.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Tender Specialist / Sales Executive to manage tender applications and drive sales growth. The ideal candidate will have experience in sourcing and supplying goods, as well as navigating procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and track tender opportunities related to general supplies (e.g., office supplies, equipment, consumables)
- Prepare, review, and submit complete tender documents in compliance with requirements
- Source quotations from suppliers and prepare competitive pricing
- Maintain an organized database of tender documents and submissions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and procurement officers
- Generate leads and actively seek new business opportunities
- Follow up on submitted tenders and sales leads
- Negotiate and close supply contracts
Requirements:
- Proven experience in tendering, procurement, or sales in general supplies
- Strong understanding of government and NGO procurement procedures
- Good negotiation and supplier sourcing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word & Excel)
Added Advantage:
- Experience with Public Procurement Regulatory Authority Kenya processes
- Existing network with suppliers or procurement officers
- Knowledge of IFMIS or e-procurement systems
