Background

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading environmental authority in the United Nations system. Responsibilities

The Term Review Expert will be responsible for reviewing and assessing the terms of reference for various projects and initiatives within the UNEP framework. This includes evaluating the scope, objectives, deliverables, and budget of proposed terms of reference to ensure alignment with UNEP's strategic goals and mandates. The expert will also provide recommendations for improvement and ensure compliance with relevant UN policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a relevant advanced degree in environmental science, public policy, international development, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, environmental policy analysis, or a similar role within an international organization is required. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Experience with UN procedures and frameworks is highly desirable.

Additional Details

This is a consultancy position based in Nairobi, Kenya. The duration of the contract will be determined based on project needs.
