On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Transit Transport Operations Clerk to work in Kenya.

Job Purpose

This position will be responsible for coordinating the execution of transit transport movements from the Port of Mombasa to Uganda, with additional responsibility for cargo destined for Rwanda, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Key Responsibilities

Transport Operations Coordination

Coordinate the daily execution of transit transport operations from Mombasa to Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, and the DRC.

Plan and allocate transport resources to ensure timely collection and delivery of cargo.

Liaise with transporters, customs agents, border officials, and internal teams to facilitate seamless cargo movement.

Monitor truck movements and proactively manage any operational delays or exceptions.

Documentation & Compliance

Ensure all transport documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with customs and transit regulations.

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regional transit procedures.

Shipment Tracking & Reporting

Track shipments from dispatch through to final delivery and provide timely operational updates.

Maintain accurate operational records and prepare transport performance reports.

Problem Resolution

Resolve transport-related issues promptly to minimise service disruptions.

Support cost control initiatives by optimising truck utilisation and transport planning.

Other Duties

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

Education

Diploma and/or Clearing & Forwarding Qualification, or equivalent.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years’ experiencein transport operations or transit logistics in Mombasa.

Strong knowledge of transit transport operations from Mombasa into Uganda is essential.

Working knowledge of transport corridors serving Rwanda, South Sudan, and the DRC.

Good understanding of regional customs and transit documentation requirements.

Experience working with transport management systems and Microsoft Office.

Core Competencies

Strong planning, coordination, and organisational skills.

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

High attention to detail and critical thinking.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Results-oriented with a proactive, “can-do” attitude.

Strong collaborator with the ability to work independently.
