Transport Manager (International School) at Summit Recruitment and Search

Summit Recruitment & Search was established in 2009 to address the recruitment, mass recruitment, executive search, outsourcing and training needs of companies based in Kenya or wanting to enter the Kenyan, East African, South African and African market. We have a leading proven track record in our field in South Africa, Uganda, Ethiopia, Tanzania.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage bus schedules, driver assignments, and dispatch to ensure safe and timely student transportation.
  • Monitor and control the transportation budget for efficient use of resources and alignment with institutional goals.
  • Supervise vehicle upkeep through regular inspections and maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Recruit, train, and appraise drivers and support staff while promoting a safe and accountable work culture.
  • Develop and update transport policies, routes, and maintenance protocols in line with legal and safety requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records on operations, personnel, and expenses, and prepare audit and mileage reports.
  • Ensure adherence to NTSA, DOT, and PSV regulations, addressing any issues to maintain legal compliance.
  • Lead long-term transport planning and manage grant applications and related compliance documentation.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fleet Management, Logistics, Transport Management, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license with a minimum of Class ABCE and NTSA PSV certification.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the transportation industry, preferably within an educational or fleet-intensive environment.
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations, vehicle maintenance practices, and safety standards related to student transportation.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel and Word, and able to prepare and present professional reports.
