Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, servicing, and repair of all school vehicles to ensure safety and reliability.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for the entire fleet.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and coordinate timely repairs.
• Maintain accurate vehicle records including service history, fuel usage, and repairs.
• Supervise drivers, including attendance, performance, discipline, and compliance with policies.
• Ensure all drivers have valid licenses and adhere to road safety and transport regulations.
• Monitor daily vehicle checks and ensure all vehicles are roadworthy before use.
• Liaise with external garages, insurers, and service providers where necessary.
• Investigate accidents/incidents and ensure proper reporting (NERs).
• Promote safe driving practices, fuel efficiency, and proper vehicle handling.
• Advise management on cost-effective repair versus replacement decisions

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Transport Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and fleet management.
• Proven experience in diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repair of light and commercial vehicles.
• Valid driving license.
• Experience supervising drivers or transport operations.
