Job Summary
The Department of Haemato-Oncology is seeking a Tumour Board Coordinator to provide efficient administrative and clinical flow support by coordinating multidisciplinary teams to ensure proper management of cancer care processes across the Aga Khan University Cancer Centre. The role involves supporting tumour board operations, oncology governance activities, accreditation requirements, quality improvement initiatives, and oncology data management.
Responsibilities or duties
Responsibilities
- Provide effective and high-quality executive administrative management sure an efficient and effective run of the department’s operation by demonstrating initiative in planning and organizing.
- Lead and administer all Haemato-Oncology and specialty Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings.
- Prepare and circulate patient lists, agendas, and vital clinical documentation ahead of board reviews.
- Produce precise records of MDT discussions and swiftly communicate treatment decisions to clinicians.
- Coordinating and tracking timely team care decisions and patient treatment plans. Monitor the implementation of board recommendations, coordinate referrals, and escalate care delays.
- Oversee logistical operations for specialty multidisciplinary breast and prostate clinics.
- Coordinate governance processes for Clinical Care Programme Certification (CCPC) and JCIA reviews.
- Maintain oncology governance documents, policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and evidence repositories.
- Collect, validate, and report oncology quality indicators to ensure continuous accreditation readiness.
- Assist with data collection and maintenance for oncology clinical databases and cancer registries.
- Support clinical audits, research projects, and the generation of service performance dashboards.
Qualifications or requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in health sciences/ nursing/ health records & information management/ public health/ health systems management/ business administration, or related fields.
- Training in quality improvement, healthcare data management, research methods, or healthcare accreditation would be an advantage
- At least 1 years’ experience in healthcare administration, oncology services, quality improvement, clinical data management, accreditation support, research coordination, or related field.
- Demonstrated medical terminology knowledge, and proficiency with healthcare IT systems, databases and cancer registries.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and reporting tools.
- Experience with REDCap, Meditech or similar clinical information systems would be an added advantage.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal communication.
- Ability to independently prioritize work, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to produce high quality work with limited supervision
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
