Zetech University is hiring a Tutorial Fellow to support teaching, prepare learning materials, mentor students and assist in academic delivery. The role is based in Ruiru and demonstrated university-level teaching experience is required.

Responsibilities or duties

• To teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department.
• Designing, developing, planning and delivering a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.
• Delivering high-quality lectures and practicals.
• Reviewing course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required.
• Collaborating with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes and the development of research activities.
• Carrying out research and writing research grant proposals.
• Seeking and participating in consultancies.
• Presenting research papers at national or international conferences and other similar events. Dissemination of research outputs.
• Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors or as captured in your detailed job description.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

• Registered for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral degree in Mechanical engineering qualification and progressing;
• A Masters and Bachelor of Science qualification in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Mechatronics and Automation Engineering /Automotive Engineering/Maintenance and Reliability Engineering/Materials Engineering from an accredited University.
• Be registered or registrable with the relevant professional body (where applicable)

Experience needed

• At least three (3) years of post-qualification work experience.
• Demonstrated university-level teaching and research experience.
