Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences and building lasting client relationships? Our client, a leading financial services institution, is looking for dynamic and customer-focused Universal Bankers to join its Retail Banking team.

This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys interacting with customers, handling financial transactions, identifying sales opportunities, and ensuring operational excellence within a branch environment.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Deliver exceptional customer service across all customer touchpoints.
  • Process over-the-counter banking transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Handle customer inquiries and provide timely resolutions.
  • Process account maintenance requests and customer information updates.
  • Promote and cross-sell banking products and digital banking solutions.
  • Generate quality sales referrals and convert customer leads.
  • Process local transfers, cheque transactions, and other branch operations.
  • Maintain cash balances and safeguard banking instruments in accordance with internal controls.
  • Handle customer complaints and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with all operational, regulatory, AML, KYC, and risk management requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate operational reports.
  • Recommend improvements to branch processes and customer service.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications or requirements

  • An undergraduate degree from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum grade of C+ in both English and Mathematics at KCSE.
  • Experience in Customer Service or Cashier Services will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Good numerical and analytical ability.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Sales and business development orientation.
  • Good computer literacy and digital proficiency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Understanding of banking operations, products, and digital channels will be an added advantage.
