Role Context
The Universal SME Banker plays a crucial role in supporting the growth and success of our Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) clients. This role involves building strong relationships, understanding client needs, and providing tailored financial solutions to help businesses thrive.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a portfolio of SME clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the SME segment.
- Assess client financial needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services, including loans, overdrafts, trade finance, and cash management solutions.
- Conduct thorough credit analysis and risk assessment for loan applications, ensuring compliance with bank policies and procedures.
- Provide financial advice and guidance to SME clients to support their business growth and financial health.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as credit analysts, product specialists, and relationship managers, to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities within the SME banking landscape.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in banking, with a focus on SME or corporate relationship management.
- Strong understanding of financial products and services relevant to SMEs.
- Excellent credit analysis and financial assessment skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of the Kenyan SME market is an added advantage.
