Our client is seeking to recruit a highly competent Veterinary Officer to support animal health management within livestock and wildlife production systems based in Naromoru.

The ideal candidate must have strong clinical veterinary experience, a deep understanding of livestock production systems, and the ability to work independently in field environments. Experience in wildlife veterinary practice is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, treat, and manage diseases affecting livestock and wildlife.
  • Conduct routine animal health checks, vaccination programs, and disease prevention initiatives.
  • Provide veterinary advisory services on animal health, production, and welfare.
  • Monitor livestock production systems and implement best veterinary practices.
  • Maintain accurate veterinary records, treatment logs, and health reports.
  • Respond to animal health emergencies and provide clinical interventions.
  • Collaborate with farm management to improve animal health and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and animal welfare standards.
  • Prepare and submit regular veterinary reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVM).
  • Valid registration with the Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB).
  • Registration with Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) – Mandatory.
  • Minimum 4+ years’ proven experience in veterinary practice.
  • Strong knowledge of livestock production systems.
  • Experience working with wildlife animals is highly preferred.
  • Strong clinical diagnosis and treatment skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound veterinary decisions.
  • Excellent reporting and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
