Description

To provide friendly and efficient food and beverage service to guests and ensure a pleasant dining experience.

Key Duties

Welcome and seat guests politely.

Present menus and take food and drink orders.

Serve food and beverages on time.

Check on guests and respond to their requests.

Handle simple guest complaints and report serious issues to the supervisor.

Prepare and clean tables before and after service.

Keep the restaurant and service areas clean and organised.

Use the POS system to record orders and process payments.

Assist with buffet, banquets, and room service when required.

Follow opening and closing procedures.

Observe food safety, hygiene, and health and safety rules.

Work well with the kitchen, bar, and other team members.

Qualifications and Skills

Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality or Food & Beverage (preferred).

Good communication and customer service skills.

Basic knowledge of food and beverage service.

Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Basic numeracy skills.

Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Experience

0–2 years’ experience in a hotel or restaurant.

Entry-level candidates may be considered.

Personal Attributes

Polite and well groomed.

Honest and reliable.

Able to work under pressure.

Customer focused.

Working Conditions

Long hours standing.

Shift work, including nights and weekends.

Fast-paced environment.

Must be based in or able to work in Kisumu.
