Qualifications and Requirements

The Year 1 & 2 Class Teacher needs to:

  • Be a fully qualified teacher with Key Stage 1 training and experience (QTS or have a valid TSC Certificate).
  • Have experience of working in British Curriculum schools.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and families.
  • Work collaboratively and build strong professional relationships with colleagues.
  • Create a stimulating, engaging and supportive learning environment.
  • Show initiative, flexibility and adaptability.
  • Be proactive and enthusiastic, with a desire to be fully involved in all aspects of life in a leading preparatory school.
  • Be punctual and use preparation time effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with both adults and children.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills.
  • Show a competent standard of written English.
  • Use ICT effectively in teaching; experience with interactive screens and iPads is an advantage.
  • Provide a valid Police Clearance Certificate or International Certificate of Child Protection (ICPC).
  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Keep up to date with educational developments in the UK
