Background information about the job or company
I am currently looking for an Accountant/ Finance professional with 2-4 years’ experience to work in a Furniture & Textile store with various branches.
Responsibilities or duties
What the role involves:
- Maintain accurate records of daily sales, purchases, expenses, and cash transactions
- Prepare invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and journal entries
- Reconcile cash, bank statements, and supplier accounts on a regular basis
- Assist in monthly and annual financial closing processes
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Support audits by preparing required financial and inventory documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial and inventory reports for management
- Coordinate with store managers, warehouse staff, and suppliers
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and internal controls
- Assist in pricing, cost tracking, and margin analysis for furniture products
- Any other roles as per business demands
Qualifications or requirements
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance
- CPA-K qualifications (Part 1 or 2)
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and stock control practices
- Proficiency in accounting software, POS systems, and MS Excel
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple store locations and high-value inventory
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Familiarity with multi-branch inventory systems
- Experience handling large or bulky items with serial numbers or batch tracking
Experience needed
- 2-4 years of experience in accounting and inventory management (retail or furniture industry preferred)
- Experience working in a furniture showroom, retail chain, or warehouse environment
