Accountants are responsible for recording financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and managing budgets and taxes. Record and analyze financial data: Manage all accounting transactions, reconcile accounts, and ensure data accuracy.
Financial reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Budget and forecast: Develop, manage, and forecast budgets to aid in organizational planning.
Tax and compliance: Calculate and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Audit: Conduct internal and external audits to verify financial accuracy and ensure compliance.
Payroll: Process payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and ensuring timely payments.
Accounts payable and receivable: Manage the processes for both accounts payable (invoices and payments) and accounts receivable (customer invoices and collections).
Strategic advice: Provide financial and strategic advice to management and stakeholders.
Attention to detail: Essential for ensuring accuracy in financial records and reports.
Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to interpret data, identify discrepancies, and solve financial challenges.
Communication skills: Explaining complex financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Organization and time management: Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Math and numeracy: Strong aptitude for numbers and mathematical reasoning.
IT proficiency: Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and other relevant programs.
Business acumen: Understanding of business operations and goals.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
- Proven expertise in the position applied for
