The Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology is seeking to fill the position of Advanced Biostatics Lecturer.

Responsibilities or duties

• Teach advanced statistical methods including multivariate analysis, survival models, longitudinal data analysis, and Bayesian statistics.
• Supervise students in the application of advanced biostatistical techniques to complex biological and health research data.
• Conduct research on methodological developments in biostatistics and their applications in health sciences.
• Train students in the use of specialized statistical software for advanced analysis and modeling.
• Develop teaching materials on advanced study designs, sample size determination, and power analysis.
• Guide students in the interpretation and reporting of advanced statistical outputs for peer-reviewed publications.
• Collaborate with researchers on the statistical design and analysis of clinical trials and epidemiological studies.
• Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

i. Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.

ii. Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.

iii. Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research;

iv. At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.

v. Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered

vi. Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
