Job Purpose

This position is responsible for the implementation of crops projects, programmes and activities in the Sub County

Academic qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture, Agriculture and Rural Development, Home Economics, Crop production, Agronomy, Horticulture, Agri-business, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension & Education, Nutrition & Dietetics from a recognised institution.

Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies

Certificate in Computer applications skills from a recognized institution

Previous relevant work experience required.

New appointment, or agricultural in-post designates (originally Diploma holders but attained Bachelor degree)

Promote collaboration in the implementation of projects and Programmes in the subcounty

Initiate capacity building and backstopping on community mobilization in area of specialization

Disseminate agricultural information

Establish and manage agricultural information desks

Promote consultative fora with various stakeholders and collaborators within the Subcounty

Organize field days, demonstrations, and tours

Participate in agricultural shows and exhibitions

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of crops extension services in the wards

Participate in implementing the performance contract

Prepare and implement work plans

Collate, analyze, store, and disseminate crop production information and assess the trends

Mainstreaming of cross-cutting issues affecting crop development

Compilation of sectional periodic reports
