Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and delivering architectural projects from concept through to completion, ensuring design excellence, technical quality, and compliance with all statutory requirements. This role requires strong design ability, project management skills, and a thorough understanding of the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design projects from initial concept, design development, and construction documentation to site supervision and handover.
  • Prepare and submit statutory planning applications and ensure all designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
  • Produce detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documents using industry-standard software.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and provide technical guidance during construction phases.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and office standards.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • Must be a Registered Architect with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (BORAQS), RIBA, or AIA.
  • Hold a valid license to practice as an Architect and to submit statutory planning applications.
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-registration professional experience, including demonstrated involvement in the full project lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous architectural projects and design capabilities.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in sustainable design and green building practices is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of local building regulations and planning processes in Kenya.
