Responsibilities or duties
- Initiation, development, interpretation and implementation of records management policies, guidelines and procedures;
- Training and career development of Records Management Staff and their deployment and utilization;
- Efficient and effective management of registry services;
- Preparation and submission of budget estimates for registries;
- Initiation and disposal of files, documents and other records in accordance with Government regulations; and
- Supervision, guidance and development of staff working under him/her.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Be a Kenyan Citizen;
- a Bachelor’s degree in Information Science/Records Management or in any of the Social Sciences from a recognized institution;
- a Master’s degree in Information Science/Records Management or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution; and
- Shown outstanding professional competence and administrative ability in the management of the records function.
Experience needed
- Served in the grade of Principal Records Management Officer or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for a minimum period of three (3) years;
