Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Assistant Operator in Responsible Charge (AORC) to support unique US Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia.
Responsibilities or duties
Assist in the operation of the water treatment lant to produce clean and safe drinking water.
Assist in the operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant, ensuring that the water produced meets state and federal standards.
Assist in monitoring and controlling equipment processes, performing regular maintenance, and keeping detailed records.
Assist in operating the water treatment plant to produce clean and safe drinking water.
Assist in the monitoring and control of equipment and processes, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
Assist in maintaining proper water levels in storage tanks.
Assist with the performance of routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and machinery.
Assist with the collection and analysis of water samples to ensure that the water meets state and federal standards.
Assist in maintaining accurate records of operations, maintenance, and testing results.
Respond to emergencies, such as power outages or equipment failures, and take appropriate action to maintain water supply.
Assist in the performance of laboratory testing and analysis to measure pH, chlorine levels, turbidity, and other parameters.
Assist in ensuring that all safety protocols are followed, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of chemicals.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Must possess the necessary education, experience, training, and other qualification requirements for certification as a Level II Treatment and Level II Distribution operator.
Must possess a current/valid operator's certification and maintain this certification through completion of professional development courses per the requirements specified in CNIC M5090.1A.
Must be in possession of a valid passport and able to travel internationally.
Passport should be valid for at least one (1) year at the time of hire.
Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Experience needed
Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.

Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
Valid country driver's license.
Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
