The Role

The Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, Aga Khan University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Kenya, is seeking to recruit an Assistant Professor. The incumbent will be responsible for teaching, research and service activities within the Department.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality teaching and supervision to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Paediatrics and Child Health.
• Conduct research and contribute to the knowledge base in Paediatrics and Child Health.
• Participate in clinical service delivery at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of curriculum and academic programmes.
• Engage in scholarly activities, including publications and presentations at conferences.
• Participate in departmental and university committees and administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• MBChB or equivalent medical degree.
• Master’s degree in Paediatrics and Child Health or equivalent.
• Fellowship in Paediatrics and Child Health from a recognized institution is an added advantage.
• Current registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
• A minimum of three (3) years of post-Master’s experience in clinical practice and teaching.
• Demonstrated experience in research and publications.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
