AUTOMOTOR VEHICLE ELECTRICIAN

LOCATION: MOMBASA

SALARY: NEGOTIABLE

REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma or Certificate in Electrical or Automotive Engineering (or related field).
• 3–5 years’ experience as an Automotive Electrician working with vehicles, tractors, and trucks.
• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing electronic systems (EFI, ABS, airbag, AC, etc.).
• Skilled in reading wiring diagrams and using diagnostic tools and test instruments.
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and problem-solving ability.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and proper waste disposal.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Diagnose and perform electrical repairs and maintenance on vehicles, tractors, and trucks.
• Identify and fix faults in electronically controlled systems such as ignition, braking, and air conditioning.
• Install and service electrical components and accessories (e.g. lighting, alternators, starter motors, radios).
• Use diagnostic tools and circuit diagrams to locate and repair electrical faults.
• Maintain accurate job cards, inspection sheets, and documentation for all tasks.

Technical Proficiency: Ability to use and maintain electrical testing equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex electrical malfunctions and find efficient solutions. Reading Schematics: Skill in interpreting technical diagrams and manufacturers' manuals to understand electrical systems. Manual Dexterity: The ability to work with their hands and perform tasks such as repairing and replacing parts. Computer Literacy: Competence in using computers and relevant software, especially for modern vehicles with electronic control units (ECUs). Attention to Detail: Thoroughness and accuracy in diagnosing, repairing, and documenting work. Safety Awareness: Knowledge of and strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
