Responsibilities or duties

  • Prepare and serve all hot and cold beverages (coffee, espresso, teas, blended drinks) and serve prepared pastry items as per customer requests and personal recommendations.
  • Maintain absolute cleanliness and sanitation of all work areas, utensils, service areas, seating areas, and equipment.
  • Monitor and record temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment to ensure all are functioning correctly and safely.
  • Engage customers by describing menu items, informing them of daily specials, and proactively suggesting products that may appeal to their tastes (upselling).
  • Deliver consistently excellent customer service, addressing any complaints or compliments immediately to the Immediate Supervisor.
  • Receive, accurately process, and fully manage all customer payments, strictly following all cash handling procedures.
  • Take accurate food and drink orders using the POS ordering software or slips, and communicate and confirm order details to the kitchen staff.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff by assisting with Mise en Place when called upon and ensuring the cleanliness and proper presentation of all dishes and kitchenware.
  • Manage inventory by requisitioning all products and materials necessary for beverage production from the stores.
  • Maintain a tidy dining area by arranging table settings and promptly clearing dirty plates, glasses, and silverware for cleaning.
  • Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, menu changes, and specifications for reservations to ensure seamless service execution.
  • Strictly follow all relevant health department regulations and ensure alcoholic beverages are served only to persons aged 18 and above.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Must be between 25-30 years of age.
  • Must be licensed to serve and mix drinks.
  • Certificate/Diploma in food and beverage sales and service.
  • Thorough knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures related to food and beverage service.
  • Proficient computer knowledge and understanding (for POS and inventory).
  • Must have a great understanding of coffee beans and flavor profiles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of wine, cocktails, and alcoholic drinks is a MUST.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work in shifts
  • Experience needed
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience as a Barista/Mixologist in a well- known establishment.
