The Cartographer position supports the spatial and geographic components of national statistics. The role is critical in the preparation, updating, and management of maps and spatial datasets used in surveys, censuses, and other statistical operations.
Responsibilities or duties
The Cartographer will be responsible for producing accurate cartographic materials, maintaining geographic reference systems, and supporting spatial data integration within statistical processes. This includes preparing enumeration area maps, updating geographic boundaries, and ensuring consistency between spatial and statistical datasets.
The role works closely with statisticians, field teams, and technical officers to support planning, implementation, and analysis of data collection exercises. Accuracy, attention to detail, and compliance with mapping standards are essential aspects of this position.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring that statistical data is spatially accurate and usable for national planning and analysis.
