Processing Transactions: Scanning items, accepting payments (cash, card, mobile), and issuing receipts are core duties. Cash Drawer Management: Balancing the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts, and reconciling any shortages or overages. Customer Assistance: Greeting customers, answering questions about products or promotions, and handling returns or exchanges. Workplace Maintenance: Keeping the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked. Policy Adherence: Following security, anti-theft, and other store policies and procedures. Inventory Support: Assisting with stocking shelves or other inventory-related tasks as needed. Upselling: Promoting products or services to customers when appropriate.

Customer Service: Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a friendly attitude are essential for greeting customers and resolving issues. POS and Cash Handling: Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and strong, accurate cash handling abilities are critical for processing payments and balancing the register. Attention to Detail: This is crucial for ensuring pricing accuracy, verifying transactions, and preventing discrepancies. Basic Math Skills: The ability to perform calculations for change and balance the cash drawer is necessary.
