The Public Service Commission (PSC) of Kenya is an independent constitutional commission established under Article 233 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. The Commission is responsible for overseeing human resource management and development within the public service. Its mandate includes recruitment, promotions, discipline, human capital development, and ensuring the values and principles of public service are upheld across government institutions.
The Commission plays a central role in strengthening professionalism, integrity, and accountability in the public sector. Through effective leadership, institutional oversight, and transparent recruitment processes, the PSC contributes to building a competent and responsive public service capable of delivering quality services to citizens.
In line with its mandate to strengthen institutional leadership and operational effectiveness within the public sector, the Public Service Commission invites applications from qualified and competent individuals to fill several vacant positions within the Commission. The Chairperson – Audit Committee provides leadership and oversight in strengthening governance, accountability, and financial integrity within the Commission.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Chairing audit committee meetings and coordinating audit oversight activities
- Reviewing financial statements, audit reports, and internal control systems
- Advising the Commission on risk management and financial governance issues
- Monitoring implementation of internal and external audit recommendations
- Ensuring compliance with public financial management and governance frameworks
- Providing oversight on institutional risk management practices
- Supporting strengthening of internal audit and accountability mechanisms
- Reporting audit committee findings and recommendations to the Commission
