POSITION: CHEMIST

Location: Berbera, Somaliland

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine chemical, physical testing of raw material in process samples and various type of cement. Record and report test results.
• Collaborate with production dept. to resolve quality issues and make recommendation for improvement.
• Implements control procedures to ensure that in process material and finished product quality are within the specified quality parameter ranges.
• Performs XRF analyses of the samples and makes the necessary adjustment on raw material proportion as recommended.
• Ensure the reliability and calibration of chemical and physical testing equipment.
• Conduct routine inspection of cement mill weigh feeder.
• Maintain and calibrate lab equipment.
• Maintain packing manual bag weighing register.

Skill and competencies

• Minimum experience of 5 years in cement plant quality control.
• Good knowledge of quality control methods.
• Mandatory knowledge of quality testing procedure of cement.
• Mandatory knowledge of cement production process.
• Good communication skill.
