Job Context

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer for a prestigious Ultra Luxury Beachfront Hotel in Mombasa. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all hotel engineering and maintenance functions.

Responsibilities

The Chief Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's physical plant, including but not limited to:

• Managing and leading the engineering and maintenance team.
• Developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs for all hotel systems and equipment (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
• Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Managing the engineering budget, including capital expenditures and operational costs.
• Overseeing major repair and renovation projects.
• Responding to and resolving emergency maintenance issues.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior engineering role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Proven experience in managing engineering teams and budgets.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
