Background
Terre des hommes (Tdh) is a Swiss international NGO that has been committed to improving the lives of children for over 50 years. Tdh is active in more than 30 countries worldwide, with a focus on health, protection, and emergency response.
Responsibilities
The Child Rights and Business Specialist will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing strategies to promote child rights in business operations.
- Conducting due diligence and risk assessments related to child rights in supply chains.
- Engaging with businesses, governments, and civil society to advocate for child rights.
- Providing technical assistance and capacity building to stakeholders.
- Monitoring and evaluating the impact of Tdh's child rights and business initiatives.
- Contributing to fundraising and resource mobilization efforts.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Master's degree in human rights, law, international development, business administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in child rights, corporate social responsibility, or business and human rights.
- Strong understanding of international human rights frameworks, particularly the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
- Proven experience in engaging with the private sector and advocating for social change.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of French or other relevant languages is an asset.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in child rights and business.
