Job Purpose

The Commercial Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing commercial strategies, and managing key client relationships to strengthen Capital FM’s market position. The role oversees sales, partnerships, and advertising solutions while ensuring alignment with the station’s brand, audience, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement commercial and sales strategies to achieve revenue targets
  • Identify new business opportunities, advertisers, sponsors, and strategic partnerships
  • Manage and grow relationships with key clients, agencies, and corporate partners
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the sales and commercial team to ensure high performance
  • Oversee advertising packages, rate cards, promotions, and sponsorship proposals
  • Work closely with programming and marketing teams to design effective campaigns
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and audience insights
  • Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports for management
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, and ethical practices

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
  • A postgraduate qualification or professional certification is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a commercial, sales, or business development role
  • Proven experience in media, advertising, or FMCG will be an added advantage
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and client management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
