Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting commercial operations, preparing competitive quotations, driving business growth, and ensuring accurate documentation for client shipments. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to securing and maintaining business.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive rate requests and issue timely and accurate quotations.
- Prepare detailed quotes for new business, including service rates, contracts, and legal service agreements, ensuring all terms are agreed upon prior to service commencement.
- Conduct market research and prepare competitive quotations for potential clients.
- Follow up on all issued quotations to ensure conversion and secure new business.
- Ensure accurate preparation and submission of shipment documentation based on cargo type and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Submit weekly and monthly activity reports, or as required by the supervisor.
- Assist in preparing client contracts and ensure timely renewals upon expiry.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing client accounts to grow revenue and strengthen client relationships.
- Aggressively market the company and its sister companies to clients and importers to expand commercial opportunities.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by Management from time to time.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Logistics, or related field.
- Experience in a commercial, business development, or logistics environment is an added advantage.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and customer relationship management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism.
- Proficiency in MS Office and general business reporting.
