About the Role

The Content Production Associate creates the video and visual content that carries Shamiri's work across our social and digital platforms. The role owns daily production, from capturing footage to delivering publish-ready assets that keep Shamiri's presence consistent and on-brand.

This role gives Shamiri in-house capacity to produce engaging content quickly and to a high standard. That steady presence earns the visibility, trust, and engagement Shamiri needs to grow its reach.

Roles and responsibilities

Video Content Production

  • Own day-to-day production of short-form video for Shamiri's social and digital platforms
  • Shoot and capture original footage on location and at Shamiri events, including the Summit, The Gathering, and community events
  • Operate cameras, mobile devices, and basic recording equipment
  • Edit and assemble footage into finished, platform-ready video
  • Re-cut and repurpose existing footage into new outputs
  • Add captions, simple motion graphics, and sound
  • Adapt and resize video across platforms and formats

Graphic Content Production

  • Produce graphics and carousels for social media, presentations, and reports
  • Apply Shamiri's brand identity and templates consistently
  • Build and adapt visual assets across platforms and formats
  • Support the design of slide decks and visual materials

Brand and Quality

  • Ensure all outputs are accurate, on-brand, and aligned with Shamiri's visual identity
  • Maintain a consistent look and feel across platforms
  • Bring a strong visual eye to everyday content, not just templated work

Asset Management and Workflow

  • Maintain organized libraries of video and graphic assets
  • Track and file produced content for reuse
  • Manage production schedules to keep content flowing reliably
  • Keep clear records of produced work

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Conduct Work with the Multimedia & Content Production Lead on larger and more complex productions
  • Coordinate with the Brand and Social Media Manager to align content with platform priorities
  • Partner with teams across Shamiri to source stories, footage, and information

Ownership of Outputs & Accountability

The Content Production Associate owns:

  • Day-to-day short-form video production
  • Original footage captured from Shamiri's work and events
  • Graphics, carousels, and template-based visual assets
  • Platform-specific adaptations of content
  • Organized asset libraries and production records

Requirements

Key competencies

  • Strong video editing and graphic production skills
  • Camera and mobile shooting skills, including framing, lighting, and sound
  • Familiarity with short-form video across major social platforms
  • Ability to apply a brand identity and visual system consistently
  • Strong visual storytelling instinct
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organization and time management
  • Ability to manage several outputs at once and deliver on schedule
  • Collaborative and self-directed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in design, multimedia, communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in content production, video editing, or graphic design
  • Portfolio demonstrating original video capture, editing, and graphic production
  • Proficiency in Figma, Canva and CapCut required
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator, is a plus
  • Experience producing content for social platforms
  • Experience in social impact, research, or mission-driven environments preferred
