Background information about the job or company
The Public Service Commission (PSC) is an independent office established under Article 234 of the Constitution of Kenya. The PSC is mandated to promote and ensure effective and efficient performance of the public service in accordance with the Constitution and the law.
Responsibilities or duties
The cook will be responsible for preparing meals, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and managing food supplies. Specific duties may include:
- Planning menus and preparing meals according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensuring food quality and presentation are of a high standard.
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, including equipment and utensils.
- Managing inventory of food supplies and ordering as needed.
- Adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
Qualifications or requirements
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school education.
- A certificate in Food and Beverage Production or a related field from a recognized institution is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience needed
A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role is required.
