Background

CIAN (Community Land Action Now!) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing community land rights, strengthening land governance, and supporting climate justice initiatives. We are committed to empowering communities and ensuring equitable access to and management of land resources.

Role Context

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Coordinator to join our team. The Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing and implementing our programs, ensuring they align with our mission and objectives. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of community land rights and climate justice issues.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the implementation of CIAN's programs.
  • Ensure programs advance community land rights and strengthen land governance.
  • Support and contribute to climate justice initiatives.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including community members, partners, and government agencies.
  • Monitor program progress and report on outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of new program strategies and proposals.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing programs related to community land rights, land governance, or climate justice.
  • Proven track record of successful program management and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of land rights issues and climate change challenges in Kenya.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A relevant degree in a related field is preferred.
