BACKGROUND

The Kitui County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the positions of County Executive Committee Members as detailed below.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The County Executive Committee Member shall be responsible to the Governor in the execution of the following duties:

  • Formulating and implementing county policies and strategies in the assigned sector.
  • Developing and implementing county plans and programs.
  • Overseeing the management of county resources in the assigned sector.
  • Ensuring the provision of quality services to the citizens in the assigned sector.
  • Representing the county in relevant forums and engagements.
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Governor.

QUALIFICATIONS

The qualifications for the position of County Executive Committee Member shall be as prescribed by the Constitution of Kenya, the County Governments Act, 2012, and any other relevant legislation. Specific qualifications for the position of CEC Member for Roads, Transport and Public Works include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Kenya, preferably in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
  • At least ten (10) years of relevant professional experience, with at least five (5) years in a senior management position.
  • Knowledge of public finance management and procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
  • Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The position is full-time and tenable in Kitui County. Successful candidates will be appointed by the Governor.
