This is a part-time lecturer position at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology.

Responsibilities or duties

• Teach the principles of criminology including crime theories, criminal justice systems, and crime prevention strategies.
• Supervise students in research on crime patterns, victimization, and the social impacts of crime.
• Conduct research on criminal behavior, juvenile delinquency, and contemporary crime issues.
• Train students in forensic investigation, criminal profiling, and community-based crime prevention.
• Develop teaching materials on comparative criminology, transnational crime, and human trafficking.
• Guide students in understanding the intersection of law, society, and criminal justice.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies on research and crime reduction initiatives.
• Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

i. Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.

ii. Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.

iii. Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research;

iv. At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.

v. Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered

vi. Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
