Job Purpose

Responsible for implementing and enforcing the management of space utilization, projects installation, acceptance, service provisioning, faults management, preventive maintenance cycle management

Key Responsibilities

Providing operational support that will involve monitoring system performance, making defect repairs, testing the application after any changes are made, and tuning.

Participating in team activities such as peer code reviews to improve the overall quality of team deliverables.

Working collaboratively in cross functional teams to deliver solutions.

Managing and supporting 3rd party software developers and other integration partners both internal and external.

Research and development of new features, solutions & technologies.

Fault management, change management and preventative maintenance activities ensuring maximum MTBF and minimal MTTR

Implement and enforce Data Centre procedures pertaining to: i. Space ii. Power iii. Cooling iv. Installation & acceptance v. Change management

Analyse trends, undertake root cause analysis, identify key issues and provide clear and concise RCA documentation to facilitate continued improvement.

Qualifications- Academic and Professional

Bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering or related field

Higher Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Data centre certification course

2 years experience as Data Centre Engineer

Competencies

Working knowledge of GSM network technology and an understanding how each contract impacts the running of the Telkom Kenya infrastructure

Planning and organizing.

Good knowledge of Telco’s core networks, interconnectivity and customer impact
