Tourism Fund (TF) is a State Corporation established under the Tourism Act, 2011 which came into operation on 1st September, 2012 vide special issue Kenya Gazette Supplement No. 93 of 24th August, 2012.
Responsibilities or duties
- Formulating and implementing ICT policies, procedures and systems.
- Planning, designing, implementing and aligning ICT strategies.
- Coordinating the design, development and maintenance of network infrastructure and services.
- Overseeing the Fund’s intranet and internet services.
- Advising management on effective ICT governance structures.
- Advising on ICT procurement specifications and standards.
- Planning and implementing ICT business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
- Researching emerging ICT trends.
- Ensuring compliance with ICT standards, procedures and regulations.
- Updating and maintaining the Fund’s website.
- Overseeing provision of technical support services and user training.
- Reviewing ICT feasibility studies and recommending best practices.
- Planning and budgeting for the Department.
- Undertaking departmental risk mitigation.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, CISM, CISA, or equivalent database/web development certifications (MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, PHP, HTML, ASP).
- Membership to a relevant professional body (where applicable) in good standing.
- Leadership course certificate lasting at least four (4) weeks.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
Experience needed
- Minimum of twelve (12) years relevant experience, with at least five (5) years at Principal ICT Officer level or equivalent.
