Tourism Fund (TF) is a State Corporation established under the Tourism Act, 2011 which came into operation on 1st September, 2012 vide special issue Kenya Gazette Supplement No. 93 of 24th August, 2012.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Coordinating the development, implementation and review of the Fund’s Resource Mobilisation Strategy.
  • Leading implementation of policies and programmes for resource mobilisation.
  • Coordinating strategic linkages to support tourism and hospitality institutions.
  • Assisting in development of funding proposals for tourism and hospitality initiatives.
  • Coordinating resource mobilisation activities.
  • Liaising with donors, public and private partners to support strategic projects and programmes.
  • Leading identification of partnerships and funding opportunities.
  • Coordinating engagement with county governments to develop tourism products and services.
  • Leading monitoring and evaluation of the Fund’s projects.
  • Spearheading implementation of tourism product and service support initiatives.
  • Developing fundraising programmes to support the Fund’s mandate.
  • Accounting for gifts, donations, grants and endowments received by the Fund.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years relevant work experience, with at least four (4) years at Principal Officer level or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics, Law or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics, Law or equivalent.
  • Certificate in Management course lasting at least four (4) weeks.
  • Membership to a relevant professional body (where applicable).
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
