Background
Warehouse Receipt System Council (WRSC) is a State Corporation in the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and cooperatives established by the Warehouse Receipt System Act No. 8 0f 2019. Warehouse Receipt System (WRS) is a process where owners of commodities (Farmers or Aggregators) deposit their commodities in a certified warehouse and are issued with a warehouse receipt as proof of deposit.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Overview of Functions
- Driving motor vehicle as authorized.
- Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle's cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tyre pressure etc.
- Detecting malfunction of vehicle systems.
- Maintenance of work tickets for vehicles assigned.
- Ensuring security and safety of the vehicles on and off the road.
- Overseeing safety of the passengers and/or goods therein.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the motor vehicle.
- Preparing motor vehicle periodic reports.
Person Specifications
Mandatory requirements:
- Have served in the grade of Driver II for a minimum period of three (3) years.
- Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D (plain) or equivalent qualification.
- Have a valid driving license free from any current endorsements and valid for the required classes of vehicles.
- Have passed Occupational Trade Test for Drivers Grade III from Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution.
- Possess a First Aid Refresher Certificate lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or KIHBT or any other recognized institution.
- Be proficient in computer applications.
- Have a valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police Service (DCI).
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
