General Purpose
Our client, a market leader in the food manufacturing sector, is seeking to recruit a skilled and reliable Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support the maintenance and efficient operation of factory machines, utilities, and equipment. The successful candidate will ensure minimal downtime, maintain safety standards, and support continuous improvement of plant operations.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance for all machines and factory equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and instrumentation faults and ensure timely repairs with minimal downtime.
- Maintain clean, safe, and hygienic workspaces in line with food safety standards.
- Train operators and technicians on machine handling, SOPs, and autonomous maintenance procedures.
- Ensure tools, spare parts, and maintenance equipment are well managed and controlled.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Participate in OSHA, FSMS, and QMS compliance activities to ensure staff safety and product quality.
- Support installation of new machinery and factory projects, including supervision of contractors.
- Maintain utility systems such as power, water, air systems, chillers, and cooling towers.
- Monitor and record energy usage and utilities consumption to support energy management initiatives.
- Conduct facility inspections, 5S audits, and housekeeping checks to ensure safe working conditions.
- Track statutory compliance including stack emissions, effluent discharge, calibration of equipment, and inspection of pressure vessels and lifting equipment.
- Support cost control by monitoring maintenance costs, utilities, spare parts usage, and repair expenses.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or related field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of machine maintenance, utilities systems, and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and troubleshooting electrical faults.
- Understanding of 5S, OSHA, food safety standards, and quality systems is an added advantage.
